A 1950's original mid-century dream home that had the bones one can only wish for, but required an eye and a vision for updating. Homeowner and decor aficionado, Megan Willmann, and her Interior Designer, Tabitha Mund, worked together to modernize these spaces in a way that was timeless, functional and clean. Throughout the entire renovation process, they made sure to preserve the elements of the home by restoring and renewing them, yet integrate into the new design. The kitchen cabinets are made with (local) Amish Oak, the countertops a matte gray quartz, backsplash is a natural limestone tile, and finishes in matte black. The beams are the original dark wood and the brick was in mint condition and preserved to work into the space. The natural sunlight in this space is just the cherry on top.
For the bathrooms, the idea was the same; a clean and minimal look but functional. Modern bath and glass shower panel with clean lines, locally sourced white concrete counter tops and a locally made oak vanity with stainless steel fixtures.
