70’s Basement Of My Dreams

When I started work on our unfinished basement, it was the perfect blank canvas to create a 1970’s dream space. My vision was a nod to the basements of yesterday here in Milwaukee. Adding design elements like the carpeted wall behind the bar, the hidden door within the original wood paneling and the faux stone wallpaper surrounding the fireplace made it feel more kitsch and fun. The original bathroom was the inspiration with the neutral palette and mint condition lucite fixtures, so I wanted to create a space to compliment that.
