Boor Bridges Architecture
Mission District

Tucked away mid-block on Ames Alley this adaptive re-use of the former Betty Mae Dance Studio is part of San Francisco’s growing trend
of activating alleys through inhabitation. A clear and efficient 860 square foot floor plan provides for the sense of distinct spaces, without
compartmentalizing the whole. From the entry threshold, glimpses of the rest of the spaces are partially obscured by a central fireplace clad in reclaimed fir and washed in light. The bathroom, lit by a 5 foot skylight shaft, as well as the pocket garden that sits like framed art at
the side of your bed, a custom soaking tub just outside and the fully equipped kitchen, all conspire to help this tiny space live much larger than its footprint would suggest.
