At only 12 1/2 feet in width, this small corner house is half the width of a normal San Francisco lot. The renovation included the addition of a second floor, a reorientation of the entry through a court and full interior remodel. The second story was set back from the first floor with a deck off the master bedroom. The addition was delineated further with a change in facade material along the lateral elevation. The interior was kept as open as possible to maximize the available width. The butterfly roof structure was left exposed on the interior of the second floor addition to maximize the sense of height.
