Last year, the AIA Small Project Award went to what is most likely the smallest house ever to win the award: the Pup Tent by the New York-based firm Slade Architecture. Made from a single four-by-eight foot sheet of water-jet cut plywood, the conical 'pup tent' is, according to Hayes Slade, "a modern, indoor dog lounge." As for its origin, Slade explains: "This piece was an exploration in materials designed and fabricated for the Design Trust for Public Spaces Annual Auction. The auction project requirement was to create a 'nest'—something that could support residence for a creature and would fit in a taxi." Here's a closer look at the coolest dog bed we've seen in a while.

This Product of the Day goes out to our furry-friend-adoring managing editor, Michele Posner, and her lovely pup, Gracie. As both a pet lover and ceramics afficionado, MP is the first person we thought of when laying eyes on this water bowl from Bauer. It says DOG, plain and simple, and we love it.
- Dear Dwell: Our dog is spending more time in bed than my husband; I think its time to get her one of her own. Can you recommend designs that a pampered pup will enjoy?
It's been said that if someone is a good person in this life, they will be reincarnated as a beloved house pet in the next. With a pair of bossy Chihuahua mutts and a cantankerous fifteen-year-old cat at home, I certainly spend a good deal of time catering to furry little whims, so maybe there's some truth to the statement. In any case, here's a roundup of pet-friendly products that keep my animal overlords happy.
Give Fido a clean, comfy place to sleep and your holey old jeans and t-shirts a second life with Molly Mutt's 100% cotton dog duvets. Designed to cover your pup's existing bed, or, in a clever case of upcycling, be conveniently filled with textiles from around your house, there are different sizes and designs offered to suit any pooch's preference. ("Your Hand in Mine" is pictured. No word on whether it was named after the Explosions in the Sky song of the same name that is oft heard wafting through Dwell hq.)
