A departure from my predominately gadget heavy gift list, I came across a couple of items that I simply could not ignore. The first one is this beautifully designed fish bowl. It’s so stunning with its mountainous peaks that for a moment I wished I had a goldfish of my own. It’s the perfect gift for those on your list with an appreciative eye for a modern twist on a traditional standard—Goldie never had it so good.

As previously mentioned, I came across a couple of gift ideas for my gift guide that weren’t exactly gadgets, or gadget related. This is a company I discovered last year and one that I think is so smart and clever. If you have someone on your gift list whose life revolves around their four legged family member, this is a fetching and unique piece of art. With several breeds to choose from (including cats) you’re sure to find the perfect rendering for that pet parent on your list. Created by an architect and a graphic designer, the Animal Blueprint Company combines a passion for dog breeds, design and architecture. The print renderings are illustrated in the original 1950’s blueprint style and are drawn up with interesting factoids and information about the breeds it depicts.
I have a deep seated love for my iPhone, my iPad, and my iPod. The items I chose for Dwell's Holiday Gift Guide represent some of my favorite finds this year. Most of the items on my list are gadgets (or gadget related), with a few exceptions. Regardless of the bucket in which they fall, I think you’ll agree that these products are impressively designed.
