Berlin-based Atelier Hors-Serie has a pretty remarkable selection of handcrafted clay pots in all shapes and sizes. The AT collection shown comes in a natural or contrasting engobe finishes, which give the planters their unique color combinations, and it's worth a click over to their site for some great options for outdoor greens.
This beautiful planter from Portland's Design Night would provide the perfect spot for a new collection of flowers and herbs. The larger opening up top allows for a sprout that needs some more space to get settled and root, while the pockets on the side are ideal for smaller greens. Inspired by forms found in nature (we think it looks a bit like a lovely 18' tall, 22' wide artichoke), the hand-finished and glazed piece can be used indoors or outdoors, and comes in a deep grey and bright yellow (in addition to the white pictured).
These hand-crafted spinners are a series of porcelain planters well-suited to housing herbs, but equally adept at hanging on to pencils, candles, or small tabletop clutter. They come available in 13 different color and pattern combinations, and each piece is made to order by Long Island City-based designer Romi Hefetz.

We've long been big fans of Xenia Taler's folksy decorative tiles, and a recent quick browse through her site has only fueled our adoration. Xenia's designs are hand-colored on her partner Steven Koblinsky's custom clay and unique glazes, and the substantial pieces—most are 4"x4" or bigger—would look great on a wall on their own, or set in with a series of field tiles.
