Earthworld Architects & Interiors, based in Pretoria, the South African capital, was hired to design a coffee shop for the Foghound Interactive Coffee Company outside Johannesburg with used shipping containers. The 3,165-square-foot shop, which includes a showroom for the company's coffee machines, was completed in July 2014.

Following its Charlotte Perriand installation last year, Louis Vuitton is bringing another design concept to life for Design Miami 2014. In 1972, French designer Pierre Paulin imagined a residential concept for Herman Miller. The six-story mock-up envisioned a living arrangement that could be modified to suit changing needs. The original maquette, part of the Centre Pompidou's collections, will be presented at a satellite exhibition, along with 18 furniture pieces from the design that are being produced by Louis Vuitton for the first time.

Scandinavian-Inspired Office Design in NYC

When Dots, a mobile gaming brand, wanted to set up an office to accommodate their growing needs in New York City, they turned to designer Sheena Murphy of Sheep + Stone to create an inviting, efficient space. "I wanted to establish a place where the team could work, play (literally!), and hang out in a visually pleasing and highly functional environment," Murphy says. The resulting space in the city's Meatpacking neighborhood is a light-filled loft with a Scandinavian touch.
