This Tuesday, we hopped a train for Brooklyn Heights. Destination: The New York Transit Museum, where a talk about the historic Vignelli subway map was being held. If you haven’t yet been, take note—the door can be hard to spot at first. (Cleverly, it’s a subway entrance.) Upon entry, we were met with a standing room only crowd. Waiting for the panel to start, the audience had already noticed the museum’s last-minute booking coup—the man himself, Massimo Vignelli hadn’t been billed for the event, but would now be participating. It was a pleasant surprise, as most anytime Mr. Vignelli speaks, a sound bite is born.
