Manufactured by de Nord, Silenci is a classic stackable wooden chair outfitted with a solid wood frame and a soft polyurethane back. Could this remedy the noise pollution in libraries? Prevent sleeping babies from being awoken by chairs that accidently topple over? Provide the ideal furniture for noise-sensitive migraine sufferers? Well, almost. Designed for use in public spaces, these chairs boast their inaudibility, but there's nothing quiet about their design.

Her designs have garnered international attention and she is soon to exhibit at the Wear Is Art fashion show in Berlin. While the papa-san chair adds little to an interior besides nostalgic references to college crashpads, it's still a comfortable place to curl up. Designer Camilla Hounsell Halvorsen, a recent graduate of the Oslo National Academy of Arts, made a chair that turns the tiltable bowl-shape of the papa-san style into something worthy of a well-considered room.
