Gallery 16 is excited to present its seventh exhibition with San Francisco artist Rex Ray. The exhibition will feature new paintings and collage. Ray’s work has become a fixture in the national contemporary art scene with its unmistakable graphic power.
Ray’s unique sensibility straddles both the world of Fine Art and Graphic Design. His paintings and collage have received acclaim in national and international art venues, and his ubiquitous graphic work has made him a staple on the international design scene. His biomorphic shapes pull from a 1950’s aesthetic while grounded in an expressionistic lineage, resulting in lush, playfully sophisticated abstract compositions.
