Panel Discussion: Modern in the Past Tense: Revisiting the “Design 1935-1965: What Modern Was” Landmark Exhibition

An expert panel, including David Hanks and Martin Eidelberg, curators of the original show; Newark Museum curator Ulysses Dietz; pioneering dealer Mark McDonald; and interior designer Ali Tayar will discuss the importance of this exhibition, then and now. Moderated by Judith Gura, professor of Design History at NYSID. An exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of What Modern Was will be on view at the NYSID Gallery from October 26, 2011 – January 12, 2012.
