I went to the opening of the exhibition and let me tell you, it is fantastic! I had the opportunity to meet the Ackermans--warm and intelligent people, still spry in their 80s. The variety of work is unbelievable--from mosaics to ceramics to tapestries to woodcarvings. Clearly an very talented duo who leveraged their fine art talents and made beautiful pieces that people could afford to have in their homes. A must see for anyone interested in Modernism and the special influence that California had on the movement.
