Mannahatta/Manhattan: A Natural History of New York City
May 20–October 12
Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Avenue New York, New York 10029
Mannahatta/Manhattan: A Natural History of New York City will reveal the island of Mannahatta on September 12, 1609, the moment of Henry Hudson's arrival – a fresh, green new world at the moment of discovery. Through multimedia, historical artifacts, and maps, the exhibition looks at the rich landscape of the island and its transformation into a dense metropolis, where the ecological principles of diversity, density, and interdependence operate much as they did 400 years ago.
