Pedal Patch Community--a Los Angeles-based group that advocates innovative, community-based solutions to food insecurity and sustainability--is hosting FoodStuff LA. The event will introduce some of the major issues surrounding food and wellness including biodynamic farming vs. organic and traditional, the benefits of raw food, as well as the locavore movement. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with speakers and meet with fellow food enthusiasts while eating and enjoying a healthy meal made from local or sustainable sources.
FoodStuff launches in downtown LA Saturday, August 21st and the seminars are scheduled to begin August 28th, 2010. Each seminar will include an expert speaker and a meal or food demonstration. Among the line-up of special guests and speakers are internationally-acclaimed raw food chef and book author Ani Phyo, certified nutritionist Andie Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold, and Daily Dose Executive Chef Christian Page.

Interesting concept and nice people. Had a chance to make it out to the launch event and the last event with Chef Page. Both events were well organized, but the last event started a little late for me. Would be nice to see more events outside of downtown LA.
