Good news for design enthusiasts: The future is in our hands. So says best-selling author and expert in creativity and innovation Daniel Pink, Dwell on Design's keynote speaker. In his book, A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future, Pink argues that as products become abundant to the point of redundancy and labor is outsourced or automated, those fit enough to survive will be the people who bring design, fun, and emotion to their work. That's bad for accountants and programmers but good for designers and architects. Pink's provocative presentation, "The Surprising SCience of Motivation and Creativity," reveals how organizations stifle creativity, ways to reverse this, and how we can all stand to get to know the other half of our brains a little better.
