The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust will host the 36th annual Wright Plus housewalk Saturday, May 15. The housewalk will showcase rare interior tours of private homes created by Frank Lloyd Wright and his contemporaries in historic Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois. The Wright Plus housewalk, one of many events throughout the weekend, will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $80 for Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust members and $95 for non-members and are available online at GoWright.org.
The widely acclaimed housewalk attracts visitors from around the world as the Preservation Trust offers intimate insights into Wright's collections. Eleven structures, including two new homes never before seen by the public highlight the Wright Plus 2010 collection. This year’s housewalk includes tours of the River Forest Women’s Club (1913) that was recently converted to a private residence by the current owners and features “green” technology and the Davenport House (1901) that the current owner, a restoration architect, is restoring to its original Frank Lloyd Wright design. Visitors will also enjoy Wright's Home and Studio, Robie House and Unity Temple.
Along with the famed housewalk tour, the Preservation Trust also offers the following tours and events Thursday, May 13 to Sunday, May 16 as part of the Ultimate Plus Weekend: Chairman’s Reception and Twilight Tour, Friday Excursion, Exclusively Wright Dinners and Sunday Smart Start at Robie House. Each event can be purchased separately as well as part of the Ultimate Plus Weekend package.
