This exhibition marks Sir Terence Conran’s 80th birthday, and delves into the designer's impact on contemporary life in Britain. The show spans his career, from post-war austerity through to the new sensibility of the Festival of Britain in the 1950s, the birth of the Independent Group and the Pop Culture of the 1960s, to the design boom of the 1980s and on to the present day.

The Design Museum celebrates the prolific career of the Dutch graphic designer Wim Crouwel in his first UK retrospective. Regarded as one of the leading designers of the twentieth century, Crouwel embraced a new modernity to produce typographic designs that captured the essence of the emerging computer and space age of the early 1960s. This exhibition, spanning over 60 years, will cover Crouwel’s rigorous design approach and key moments in his career including his work for design practice ‘Total Design’, the identity for the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, as well as his iconic poster, print, typography and lesser known exhibition design. The exhibition will also highlight Crouwel’s rigorous design approach exploring his innovative use of grid-based layouts and typographic systems to produce consistently striking asymmetric visuals.
Design Museum has joined forces with Beefeater 24 to celebrate the fearlessly progressive spirit of London's creative minds, past and present. At the heart of the exhibition are fifteen commissions from some of London's dynamic creatives, as a group they demonstrate the diverse approaches to design in London.
Bringing together almost 200 objects from around the world, Unexpected Pleasures celebrates the work of contemporary jewellers who have challenged the conventions of jewellery design. Curated by jewellery designer and maker Dr. Susan Cohn, the exhibition offers a survey of contemporary jewellery presented through a number of themes: Worn Out, celebrating the experience of wearing jewellery; Linking Links, looking at the ways in which meaning and narratives are expressed in jewellery; and A Fine Line, offering insights into the origins of contemporary jewellery today, highlighting key instigators of the contemporary jewellery movement.
