Archtober (ärk'tōbər), Architecture and Design Month in New York City returns for 2013!
The third annual city-wide festival, October 1-31, 2013, captures the extraordinary diversity of New York’s design world with more than 150 lectures, tours, programs, and exhibitions happening at the festival’s hub, the Center for Architecture and at 50 collaborating institutions across the city. With its curated calendar featuring established museums like the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Arts and Design to start-ups like the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at Building 92, Archtober events illuminate the richness of the city’s constructed environment. “New York City is a world design capital,” says Jill N Lerner, FAIA, 2013 American Institute of Architects New York President. “Building on the first two years, Archtober 2013 will shine a spotlight on what makes New York great: its unparalleled architecture, outstanding design professionals, and global influence.”
