Architectural League Current Works: Alberto Kalach Lecture

As part of The Architectural League's 2012-2013 Current Work program, a presentation of the work of significant international figures who influence contemporary architectural practice, Alberto Kalach and his work will be featured on October 15 at 7:00 p.m. Co-sponsored with The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union, the lecture will be introduced and moderated by Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture.     As part of The Architectural League's 2012-2013 Current Work program, a presentation of the work of significant international figures who influence contemporary architectural practice, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien will be featured in a discussion with Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects on Wednesday, October 24, at 7:00 p.m. Williams and Tsien are both recipients of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Brunner Award, the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award, and the Architectural League's President's Medal, among others. The lecture is co-sponsored by The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union. Tickets for this event are free for League members and $15 for non-members.     Architectural League Current Works: Sarah Wigglesworth Lecture

    As part of The Architectural League's 2012-2013 Current Work program, a presentation of the work of significant international figures who influence contemporary architectural practice, Sarah Wigglesworth will be featured on Thursday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. Wigglesworth, currently teaching at Sheffield University, was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2004 and her award-winning projects include the Sandal Magna Community Primary School and the Siobhan Davies Dance Studios, among others. The lecture is co-sponsored with The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union as well as The Cooper Union Institute for Sustainable Design.     Architectural League Current Works: Steven Holl Lecture

    As part of The Architectural League's 2012-2013 Current Work program, a presentation of the work of significant international figures who influence contemporary architectural practice, Steven Holl will be featured on Wednesday, November 28, at 7:00 p.m. Holl was the recipient of the 2012 AIA Gold Medal and his major works include the Klasma Contemporary Art Museum in Helsinki, Finland, and the 2003 Simmons Hall at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The lecture is co-sponsored with The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union and will be introduced and moderated by Lebbeus Woods, Professor of Architecture at The Cooper Union.   • Emerging Exchanges: New Architectures of India

    This two-day conference will include presentations by architects working in India and panel discussions on the new challenges and conceptualizations affecting India’s landscape. Tickets are $40 for the general public and $25 for members of The Architectural League. Admission is free for students, faculty, and staff of New York City educational institutions with valid school ID. Admission to the keynote address may be purchased independently for $10.
