Overview

Beginning with the first list in 1995, William Stout Publishers has built an international reputation for bringing important out-of-print source books back into print, and shining light on overlooked architects and landscape designers such as Louis Sullivan and R.M. Schindler, as well as publishing important new additions to the literature of architecture. Strategic working partnerships with UC-Berkeley, North Carolina State University, Rice University, The University of Virginia, and the California College of Arts enrich these offerings. Their backlist holds a wealth of publications for architects, university and general bookstores, librarians, designers, and anyone interested in the world of modern architecture and design. They continue to publish books that document, explore, and inspire new thinking about the ways our built environment not only is shaped by, but significantly shapes, our human experience.
