Los Angeles architect Fritz Haeg narrows the divide between residents and their communities with projects like Edible Estates, an international effort to convert front lawns into working food gardens.

Love the idea but it just seems like new zoo design. Sure the animals are free to come and go but what if they choose the hvac vents over the artistically planned environment?

Awesome work. Whether it's art or architecture, it's all design. Fritz presents some stellar ideas when it comes to our impact on the natural world and what we expect of it. Cool music too!

a theory, but implementation would be a long process. be careful not to completely blur the line b/n disciplines. they would work in conjuction.

or expands it.

I think the point of animal estates is to provide a habitat for animals that may have lost their natural habitat because of human structures. I think the one's in front of the museum are there to show what's possible?

Edible estates seems right for the individuals but animal estates feels wrong for the animals.
