Dinner conversation is a special kind of discourse: loose, loud, and alive with laughs. Such is the case with The Apartment Dinner Series, in which 12 design snobs pick apart everything from Bauhaus to Britney. Look elsewhere for the tired trappings of conventional talk shows. Produced by The Apartment design firm, the dinner series shows the real-life clash of opinions as the wine is passed and culture is ripped open. The topic of episode one: talent.

Why?

Boring and pretentious

Posted by Liuda on 01/24/08 08:06AM PST

I didn't think it was awful. I quite enjoyed it.

Posted by on 12/11/07 07:25PM PST

awful.

I'm not sure what I think but I wished that I didn't look at it.

@ 19:05 on the ticker is when I got closer to the screen, because Natasha described how I feel. So, cut out the rest,Sike!

Yes it was constructed, but it still flowed in fits and starts like any dinner party of haves and have nots in any part of the country. Very cool. We loved it in Peoria.

Balljam sandwich with cheese and eggs a plenty...

Posted by hammerstein on 11/20/07 03:10PM PST

This is what happens when smart people and stupid people get together for dinner.

Posted by on 11/19/07 02:08PM PST

the quality of the conversation matched the ripped jeans of the host. nonsensical and superficial.

Posted by Fred Capio on 11/08/07 09:10AM PST

Liked it, but please post in higher res..

it's a good concept, but almost everyone was far far too pretentious. it's like they had constructed their own laughs.

Posted by on 10/31/07 07:12PM PDT

Nice, but it got a bit boring after a while.

Posted by tripp on 10/30/07 03:16PM PDT

I wanted to hate it. But I didn't. Nice.

Posted by Hater on 10/30/07 08:28AM PDT

Maybe fewer guests could allow for a more fluid conersation... topics were too quickly derailed by sarcastic remarks and chatter. Nicely shot though. I look forward to seeing more.

Posted by Graham on 10/25/07 10:22AM PDT

if comments don't get posted right away there should be a little note saying they're awaiting approval or something.

i' game. i'd be honoured to belly up to the table with the gang. my kind of scene and yes, you will make television with this.

Posted by Green on 10/20/07 07:01PM PDT

klubber, we've planned this to be series of dinners, each with its own topic. So please stay tuned!

Posted by michael Cannell on 10/18/07 06:09AM PDT

Will there be more episodes?

The very concept demonstrates TALENT. Congratulation, félicitation, felicitación.

Posted by Nellys Herrera on 10/15/07 07:50AM PDT

i think this concept is a Winner! Should be the next FINELIVING episode.

Posted by alicia loy griffin on 10/14/07 01:33PM PDT

Refreshing. The resulting tangents of creatively influenced banter are always ineresting. No cheese here. Let's watch this yarn sphere unravel...

Posted by DNath on 10/13/07 09:38PM PDT

interesting that they didn't discuss EGO.

Posted by dave robinson on 10/13/07 09:12PM PDT

Posted by rob on 10/13/07 08:57PM PDT

Posted by k on 10/08/07 12:21PM PDT

...to inspire takes one’s mind of pretentious attitude and invigorating, stimulating, and awe inspiring thinking...to understand the juxta-position of a pompous windbag. There, now you have it...

Posted by nAT on 07/23/08 08:43PM PDT

insipid, vapid, boring and pretentious

Posted by alexia on 05/26/08 10:44AM PDT

eeek! A little to straight for my taste. Great idea, but invite some true, wacky, unexpected, witty souls with "talent" to the shing-ding!

Posted by gretel on 05/17/08 09:26PM PDT

This is some kind of gag, right?

Posted by Pierre on 04/27/08 06:48PM PDT

Hah! Great - I love watching dumb folk converse. Hilarious. Please, encore, We need more. We need more.

Posted by on 04/27/08 06:46PM PDT

if you like this - you are ignorant and quite dim. The biggest waste of time in my entire life. Seriously, the single biggest waste of time in my 33 years. Even a bigger waste of time then watching 4 mintues of Flavor of Love.

Posted by on 04/27/08 06:45PM PDT

This is awesome. Awesomely embarrasing!

Posted by Bobby on 04/14/08 10:45AM PDT

The dimwits at this table have obviously never tried to create something in their lives. They know nothing about creativity or art. How pathetic. Shame on you all.

Posted by Theodore on 04/14/08 10:44AM PDT

I am a designer - quite sucessful and these people give everyone at Dwell a bad name. Dwell please get rid of this - I am sad to a part of an industry where people like this exist.

Posted by on 04/14/08 10:43AM PDT

Straight comedy. Like a scene from Von Triers "The Idiots.." - except these sad folk aren't in on the joke they are creating.

Posted by Sea Bass on 04/14/08 10:42AM PDT

Some of the dumbest people I have ever heard try to converse. I am embarrased for them. Seriously, I feel really bad for these people.

Posted by Elaine J. on 04/14/08 10:41AM PDT

Grotesque. Truly grotesque.

Posted by joe on 04/14/08 10:40AM PDT

Thought provoking... What is talent? Is skill synonymous with takent?
