DIY Kitchen: Chalkboard Paint
Turns out teachers aren’t the only ones who can work a blackboard. Some creative kitchen-owners are bringing this old-school apparatus home, courtesy of a can of chalkboard paint.

Two coats turn a flat surface into an art project that can be wiped down and chalked up at any time. Below, a backsplash becomes a scribbling-ground for recipes, while the kitchen cabinetry above is doodled over with drawings and lists. Another possibility is to mix white chalkboard paint with black to create a multi-shade grid for a calendar.

Has anyone had experience with chalkboard paint after the novelty has worn off? Does a coat of primer do the trick and adhere or are you stuck with chalkboard paint from then on?
