The Slowest Chair

After almost three years, the Bouroullec Brother's Slow Chair is finally in production. Three years ago at the Milan furniture fair the lounge chair made its debut in the Vitra booth. Someone at MocoLoco snapped this pic as Erwan explained to me how he tried to convince Vitra to call it the Sam chair (exclaiming that they had finally made a chair that could accommodate all of my six feet and eight inches).

Two years ago the Slow Chair was back in Milan, but it still wasn't quite ready for the public. Here Erwan and Vitra chairman Rolf Fehlbaum make nice for the camera.

While I still have yet to actually see the chair in a US showroom, here's the next best thing: a short film which details the creation and production of the chair with the Bouroullec's trademark wit and charm.
