Green Guide: Bob the Builder

As with all things new—technology, pop culture, language—kids generally put adults to shame. So you shouldn’t be surprised if your preschooler starts asking for locally sourced, sustainable LEGOS or LEED certified Lincoln Logs because kiddy cult construction worker, Bob the Builder, has gone green.
That’s right, Bob, ever the altruist, has hightailed it out of Bobsville and headed to Sunflower Valley, where he will embark on his most ambitious project yet—building an eco-village. The new series, “Bob the Builder—Project Build It” will track Bob and his crew as they submit a proposal, win, and build a sustainable village. Bob will incorporate solar and wind power and work with straw bale construction in addition to rehabbing a run-down mill so that Sunflower Valley can produce locally made bread. As Bob explained in an interview,“I hope that by seeing what I'm doing, children will realize there's another way of living on this planet—a way which will help look after it.”
So while most of us are fretting over how best to offset our carbon footprints, we can rest assured that our children will know how to rig a solar panel system and construct a straw bale house as quick as we can text “c u l8tr” on our Rzrs.
