Bus Stops
BLOG_bus
If you live in a city, you probably spend a fair amount of time in them: huddled under the meager roofing, eagerly eying the paltry seating already occupied, and hoping that you won't have to wait for the bus too much longer. But chances are, you probably haven't thought much about the design of bus shelters.  Now, the city of San Francisco's transportation agency (known to most as MUNI) is asking you to vote on a lineup of bus shelter designs, of which 1,500 or so of the winners will start appearing on streets as early as next year.

Participating architecture firms include BCV Architects and Lundberg Design, and the offerings are rich in visual—and material—interest. Apart from sleek forms, many of the designs include such sustainable features as rooftop solar cells, wind turbines, and recycled materials.

Since you'll probably spend more time in them than you'd like, why not help influence the shelters' design?  Offer comments on each of the submissions, and vote on your favorite design. But hurry: Voting ends today at 5pm.
