From Park Models to Prefab

News flash: Prefab isn't a 21st century invention. Americans have been living in prefab houses for years—they're called "Park Models," meaning they're wheel-less RVs designed to stay put in a trailer park. (Malibu is full of 'em.) The problem? Most are fugly. Outside, they look like a log cabin or faux colonial. Inside, they look like a set from The Golden Girls.
Architect Chris Deam's modern park model for Breckenridge was supposed to change all that. It was the talk of the modern prefab blogosphere a few years ago, while it was still in the prototype stage. But it's lost some visibility now that its actually being built and sold as the Glassic Flat. There have been some significant design changes from the original concept but it still looks pretty cool, and is priced right. Has anyone actually bought one?
