Method Homes Prefab

There’s a new prefab player in town, and its name is Method. The Seattle-based manufacturer recently completed its first unit, and from what we call tell from the photos, this one’s a beaut.

The current model can be configured in a number of variations ranging anywhere from 800 to over 2000 sqft, and either one or two story plans. The home was completed in just three months on a rustic site in Glacier, Washington.

Built using locally grown FSC certified Doug Fir framing, reclaimed trim, and cedar siding, Method’s cabin sounds like it’s got the sustainable credentials to back up the green tagline. Energy-efficient lighting and plumbing fixtures, hydronic radiant heating, whole-house ventilation systems, solar options and enhanced insulation round out the impressive environmental tally.

What’s more, the Method cabin forgoes the futuristic look in favor of a warm brand of modern design, featuring cantilevered roofs and material selection that fits right in with its natural surroundings. More information about the project can be found at the architects’ website.
