ICFF Report: Herman Miller
Airia

Storied furniture company Herman Miller launched today Lifework, a residential collection targeted at discerning individuals and families looking for smart yet stylish solutions for the home.

Lifework is a term meant to encompass the myriad tasks now so common to most Americans: personal computing, professional work, schoolwork, and all the other pastimes that involve newfangled gadgetry. The line boasts new desks, companion storage pieces, as well as accompanying seating and accessories.

A strong lineup of well-known designers—including Kaiju Studios (above) and Industrial Facility (below)—have been tapped to create the residential line, which represents somewhat of a new direction for the normally office-minded company. Saving their mid century classics, designs for the home haven't been released in several years.

This was long overdue. History will show if the momentum is still there
