Resource: Virtual Dumpster

Belongings seem to be governed by their own laws of attraction. Have you noticed, for example, that shedding stuff can be more troublesome than acquiring them?
“I am impressed by the reluctance of one’s worldly goods to go out again into the world,” E.B. White wrote more than 50 years ago in his essay Goodbye to Forty Eighth Street.
It’s lot easier to send one’s worldly goods out into the world with tools like Virtual Dumpster, a new site that allows you to upload dog-eared paperpacks, lightly used lamps and other belongings to a ‘vdumpster’ where your neighbors can help themselves. Like Freecycle, Virtual Dumpsters is an online offshoot of freeganism, a grassroots movement to find new homes for discarded stuff, and thereby stench the flow of goods to the landfills.
