Bklyn Designs the three-day showcase of local work that closes today in the DUMBO neighborhood, is customarily characterized as an unassuming warm-up act to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, a far more sweeping and comprehensive event which opens Friday.
It’s getting hard to make that lopsided comparison as Brooklyn gains ground as a cultural hotspot. This year the show was the largest to date, with 68 juried exhibitors in four venues spread among the cobblestone streets in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge.
