Luck: The Essential Guide

Do you believe in luck?
Kevin Kwan and Deborah Aaronson have published what they call a “greatest hits” of lucky charms, a disproportionate number of which involve the home. If you’re inclined to believe such things, here are a few to keep in mind:
+ An intricate pattern of unbroken lines painted on the threshold prevents bad luck from entering.
+ Enter your home only through the front door, right foot first.
+ If bad luck has entered your home, hang the doors upside down.
+ Move into a new home on a Monday or Thursday.
+ Keep fireplace tools to the right of the hearth.
+ If somebody you dislike comes to dinner, seat them at a corner of the dining table, where bad luck tends to congregate.
