Noticed: The Laundry Line Returns
The old-fashioned laundry line is considered an eyesore in many or most suburbs, and therefore illegal. But as the New York Times reported last week, energy costs and environmental concerns are conspiring to revive it. There is even a loose network of homeowners agitating for what they call “the right to dry.”

In Ontario, Canada, the government just made clothesline bans in the province illegal, so apparently the "right to dry" is indeed winning some ground.
