Remember the Gettysburg Cyclorama? Four years ago, there was a petition circulated to save the 1961 Richard Neutra building from demolition.

Greenbuild Conference: Yolo Colorhouse

Spin art isn’t something people normally engage in on a trade show floor—perhaps the state of the housing and building market is just too depressing to play with paint at present. Whatever the reason, I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon YOLO Colorhouse’s more playful approach at this year’s Greenbuild show, which kicked off yesterday in Boston.

Tour the Salk with Ellen

This past Friday I was down in San Diego touring the city with architect Aaron Anderson of Studio Anderson. No modernist worth his salt would consider leaving San Diego without a visit to Louis Kahn’s Salk Institute in La Jolla, and, as I quickly gathered, no serious Salk fan would consider touring the building without Ellen.
