Stunning Photographs of Modern Architecture

The disciplines of photography and modern architecture constantly intertwine, playing off each as they tell the story of society's development. An exhibition at the Barbican in London, open through January 2015, spans nearly 80 years and 18 photographers, showing modernization's dawn, urban growth and decay, and visions of aspirational living as seen through the lenses of Berenice Abbott, Juluis Shulman, Lucien Herve, and more. We've selected a dozen of our favorite images from this impressive overview.
