Artist Wool Blankets Collection 2019
The new ZigZagZurich 2019 Wool Blankets Collection adds an exciting new roster of artists from around the globe. From the mythological illustrations of Bristol-based George Greaves to the abstract forms of Kit Agar.
This seasons collections reflect the experimental spirit that has driven ZigZagZurich from the start, reconfiguring traditional codes of craftsmanship, setting a new creative standards for the future.
The creative team under the direction of Michele Rondelli presents a journey around the world catching the cultures’ iconic shapes and colours, playing with scale and perception and blurring boundaries between modern and tradition.
‚Satoshi’ and ‚Hanae’ are two wonderful portraits which are paying tribute to unique and stylish Japanese graphics and the fashion. ‚Vivienne’ by Michele Rondelli shows a bouquet of flowers in vivid and acid colours from a garden in Tahiti. Kit Agars ‚Lady Geometry’ discovers forms in natural colour palette remembering the period of expressionism of South of France. The journey continues with ‚Mythos’ to Greece representing a strong statement of contemplation by Geroge Greaves. ‚Fez’, ‚Tangier’ and ‚Dakar’ tributes the wonderful tribal culture discovered on a recent voyage from designer Sophie Probst to the north and eastern part of Africa.
With new yarn developments and weaving techniques, the shapes and the colours of the collection express the power of creativity with no limits, translated into textiles. ZigZagZurich creates art, for home and around, to live.
ZigZagZurich collaborates with artists and designers, both established and new, on unique collections transformed into textiles under the direction of creative director Michele Rondelli and the founders of ZigZagZurich. ZigZagZurich was born in 2013 in Switzerland. Our fundamental interest in off–stream and our passion for design and quality in textiles was the basis from which we started on our journey to bring unique home textiles that represent artistic qualities combined with high quality materials.
