Winners of "Bright Ideas" Announced
Eco-living experts Inhabitat just announced the winning designs in their Bright Ideas Lighting Design Competition. The goal? To showcase the energy-efficiency and environmental sustainability of LED technology. The winner, Ed Chew, fashioned a Buckminster Fuller-esqe geometric lamp from Tetrapak containers. "This upcycled design is so professional and well-executed that you can’t tell it's made out of junk—but once you realize this, the story becomes even more impressive," said Inhabitat's Editor-in-Chief Jill Fehrenbacher. Chew will take home a tidy $1000 prize for his design.
We here at Dwell laud the creative efforts of all of these designers! Click here for a look at all of the finalists and here for a look at all of the runners-up.
