Occupy George
Though the sprawling Occupy movement may not be able to agree to a central compact, or even list of demands, its message that wealth inequality in America is untenable is a pressing, and salient, one. And a pair of San Francisco graphic designers are putting their shoulders to the wheel with a series of deft infographics highlighting precisely that point. What's more, they're printing their manifesto and distributing it on just what they're most critical of: money. Occupy George is the work of Andy Dao and Ivan Cash, and by printing a handful of simple charts and graphs on dollar bills, they're literally stamping the medium with the message. Check out their designs and hear what Dao and Cash have to say.

Funny how you publicize this but it's pretty much the so-called 1% who can afford anything you show in your magazine. Kind of biting the hand that feeds you don't you think? Stay away from politics Dwell, you're not that important to begin with anyways.
Is Dwell endorsing defacing US currency? I agree with the previous comment, this is pretty disappointing. Dwell should stay out of politics under the guise of design. Based on Dwell’s regular content, it seems that: 1) everyone should be aspiring to have a Bulthaup kitchen and Wegner chairs, which is more of a consensus position than anything the occupy movement stands for and 2) the Occupy George piece is more than a little hypocritical given the income needed to implement many of the designs highlighted in Dwell. And please don’t file this comment in the “we are fostering a healthy debate” category, it is just a turn off for a regular online/offline reader.
Really? Most design/home/fashion/culture magazines are aspirational not just Dwell. That's the point, they make you covet those Bulthaup taps if they didn't advertisers wouldn't advertise and there'd be no magazine. I don't think this is a political post either, publications don't endorse every single thing they report on... and in this case I'm pretty sure the focus is on the vehicle for the message (which is ingenious) not the message itself. boo to you guys.
Someone's feeling guilty! Those commenters sound like whining rich people, not people that enjoy clever design. Let them switch to Elle Deco... Thanks for showing interesting things!
The standards for design have really sunk to a new low if printing on dollar bills is considered original, ingenious and/or interesting. Who hasn’t seen something “clever” written or stamped on a dollar bill?
Your assessment is so dead on, "I grew hemp," is so cerebral.
