"New" is badly misused here. I love Oxo, own Oxo, recommend Oxo... their design and execution are both tops! But the Uplift Kettle has been available a long time, I've had mine maybe 8 or 9 years?? Ditto the graters, etc. Great design is great design, and these are still fresh, if not new. The feature is a valid design catalog of items to notice, even without the misuse of the word "new."
Thanks for your comment, David! Though some of the designs have been around for years (and have been favorites for just as long!), they've been updated with new colors and materials.
I do admire many of the products that OXO puts out. This is a beautiful kettle. They frustrate me with the excessive number of single-function items they produce. Herb mincer? Corn stripper? Why invent false necessities just to sell more products? Their mandoline slicer is excellent, but replacement blades are not available, so they whole unit ends up in the landfill. Great company, they just need to pick up their game a bit.
You can find Mandoline replacement blades for the OXO Mandolines on their website at www.oxo.com under replacement parts. They really are trying to think green! My home is filled with OXO gagets and this is one of my favs!!!
