From the Show Floor: FLOR Tiles
While browsing the floor at Dwell on Design I had to stop in my tracks as I noticed this brightly colored rug. I would describe this rug as completely ridiculous, as its colors are garish and the patterns kind of make your eyes cross a little bit—and that's why I love it. As I approached the rug, it reminded me of a Missoni pattern, a pattern so few people can really pull off without looking like a rug themselves.

The rug was a part of a booth run by Hold It Contemporary Home, a San Diego based retailer who sells a large number of brands. I asked one of the women in charge what the rug was, and to my surprise, she told me they were FLOR tiles. That response threw me off at first, because these weren't squares, so the tiles must have been cut in half, an effect that makes these look great. But now I'm left with a bit of a mystery.

Anyone know what the other pattern is? I totally need to try this out in my own apartment. It would be perfect for under the kitchen table, you'll neer see crumbs on a pattern that intense. Also, if you dig these bright patterns, you should also check out FLOR's MAG-NEAT-O pattern, which is equally as shocking and perhaps even more Missoni-like.

Hold-It also had on display knock offs of Cherner chairs, Kartel chairs, and Wegner chair. So I would not be surprised if those were knock-off FLOR tiles!
If you find something you like in the Flor Outlet be aware that their stock system is not up-to-date. I took the time selecting tiles for a rug, placed the order, and then was informed 3 days later that the tiles were not available. Not my idea of good service.
