From the Show Floor: Dwell Outdoor
Abuzz with visitors discovering and testing out all manner of sustainable alfresco products, Dwell Outdoor drew a huge crowd all day Saturday, with many filing in and out of a brand-new modern Airstream trailer and the eco-friendly home designed by ecofabulous founder Zem Joaquin. Standouts were the beautifully designed chicken coop, complete with real chickens, landscape architecture firm Shades of Green’s booth covered completely in real sod, and oversize pebble–like outdoor seating by Eis Design, but every one of the elements on the floor helped bring home the fact that sustainable outdoor living is striking, smart and here for good.

We loved being asked by the designers of DOD to supply our Gainey "Modern" collection for the outdoor section. The ceramic planters featured on the Loll table, in front of the Airstream and all around the eco house and lounge area are just a few of the 140 pieces we supplied. To see our complete collection of California handcrafted ceramics visit our website at www.gaineyceramics.com. Thanks again Dwell, it was great fun!
I was very disappointed that this year there were no prefab homes for showing. Last year there were at least 2, I think, maybe more. This year, there was one, but it was being used as a display room for H.D. Buttercup. I was really looking forward to seeing more on prefab homes and experiencing them for myself, instead of just in catalogs and pictures. Maybe next year.
Thanks for your comment and for checking out Dwell on Design, Angel! We'll keep the prefab recommendation in mind when we plan next year's programming.
