David Adjaye for PACT
If your idea of designer underwear still has something to do with Mark Wahlberg and Calvin Klein, it's time to step into the 21st century. And to expand your notion of "designer." Last year eco-entrepreneurs Jason Kibbey and Jeff Denby launched PACT, an Earth-friendly, design-minded line of underwear for men and women whose aim is both social change and sustainable drawers. They leaned on industrial design maven Yves Behar of Fuseproject for a handful of designs, and this time they've tapped British-by-way-of-Tanzania architect David Adjaye.
Each PACT product comes with a social cause attached, and in the case of Adjaye's Green Belt print, it's the Green Belt Movement of Kenya, an organization committed to planting trees in Africa. From now until April 25th, every pair of PACT Green Belt underwear sold will have 100 percent of the proceeds go toward planting trees. By PACT's estimate, one pair sold results in 20 trees planted. So whether your passion is a frondescent Africa, a colorful alternative to your boring boxers, or because you tried to wear Adjaye's Nobel Peace Center in Oslo and now you're banned from Norway, here's a great way to step into a good cause.

David Adjaye is of Ghanaian decent, not Tanzania.
Form4function, indeed Adjaye is of Ghanaian descent, but he was born in Tanzania. A fine clarification, though. Thanks.
form4function: Adjaye was born in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Its...um...the first line of his wikipedia entry. He is of Ghanaian decent, but he's not from there.
