Butterfly Roof Meditation Hut
Illinois resident Mary Kalanzis rises every morning with a view worthy of the next world. "I wake up to the vision of the hut everyday," she says. "There's something about the proportions that make it appear heavenly." The hut is the butterfly-roof-adorned tea and meditation structure perched above a pond on their 14 acres in Champaign, Illinois.

.@HysteriaMovie, a #film about the invention and #design of the vibrator is predictable, punchless, and offers woefully little satisfaction.

The butterfly roof, while aesthetically pleasing, seems like a questionable choice in a snowy climate.
Gawd, I'd love to have a meditation hut of my own ...actually I'd even settle for a meditation room. I kinda see the above posters' point of view but I've seen similar architectural styles in Scandinavia. I guess people who are used to living in very cold climates don't mind as much.
A beautiful and organic design! I love the grass mats creating an island within an island :). Great photography Phil!
Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio has a roof similar to this. It did leak after the snow melted and then froze. After it froze the expansion pushed the "wings" apart and created a gaping hole. To fix the problem a few heating coils were installed to melt the snow all winter. Problem solved.
Like it but it would fly away like a butterfly where I live on Puget Sound...wind would fill those wooden sails..
Love TALLERQATA'S Meditation rugs!
Where can I buy the meditation rugs?
