Billykirk Bike Frame Bag
I ride my bicycle quite a lot, and often find myself in the position of having a few things to carry with me, but not really enough to warrant a bulky messenger bag. I could slip my a paperback in my belt maybe, but what am I supposed to do with this sandwich? The leather-working brothers behind the all-American brand Billykirk have just the thing: their Bike Frame Bag.

Not so big that you can cram a textbook in there, but just the right size for your wallet, maybe a slim digital camera and a little something for lunch, the Bike Frame Bag is the perfect size to get your gear off your back. It's handmade in America as well, and though it's designed to fit the slimmer tubes of road and track bikes, the Kirk brothers can make the adjustment if you want to clip it to a mountain bike as well. Handsome stuff, fellas.

Wow, beautiful! Love the simple 'ball' closures on the outside, and how the bike tube straps are closed inside the bag (see the other images on their website, to see what I mean). So clean!
I ride my bike a lot as well and I have to say I've never really been inclined to make use of a messenger bag. A small backpack to my mind seems infinitely more functional and distributes its weight better across a person's back in a symmetrical fashion. The last thing I want to say is I give a big hooray to an American company actually making merchandise here in the United States. I find it deeply hypocritical to see companies that have deep historical roots here in the states and make their stuff in some far flung, impoverished land (Levi's jeans, etc.). I'll always pay more for an authentic, honestly presented product that's made here, & it seems so blindingly obvious and pressing an issue giving the desperate amount of unemployment we've acquired . We need to get back into the business of making things that are useful, modest & have value which I think we've abandoned.
Jeremy, I could not agree more. Considering the current rage for heritage gear in the men's fashion world, and the fact that so many of those heritage brands are produced abroad, an honest Made in the USA product is all the more rare and authentic. Pat Buchanan and Ralph Nader agree on this one point, but for different reasons: buy American.
