We know you've been waiting white-knuckled at the edge of your seats to know who came up with the winning name for Coolhaus's next ice cream sandwich. The time has come. We've picked a winner. And an honorable mention. And we couldn't help ourselves...we have a [long] shortlist of favorites and we want to share them all.
The winner of the Dwell's Sweetest Contest Ever, which will debut tomorrow night at the Dwell on Design movie screening and Mobile Restaurant Row as the newest flavor offering from Coolhaus is...
Louis Kahntaloupe: cantaloupe ice cream between ginger cookies

It was a tough decision, and because tomorrow night's event features Visual Acoustics, the new documentary about Julius Shulman, we decided to select a second honoree. This flavor will be made as a one-night-only, limited edition sandwich in honor of the great modern architectural photographer and subject of tomorrow's movie. Remarkably, four contest entries suggested the name:

So you forever missed the opportunity of saying "don't forget the Kahnnoli"....and they would have tasted amazing as well, after all life is just one Godfather quote after another...
There are some clever names. Puns are endless enjoyment.
Why is it Kahntelope instead of Kahntaloupe? Is it both utterly level zero and misspelled? Or am I missing something? Seriously, you picked that over S'Morphosis, Eero Cinnamon, Thom Playne and some of the other actually creative and witty ones?
i can only say that the idea of a canteloupe ice cream sandwich is about as appealing as an apple sauce calzone. im glad louis kahn died before he had to see this.
maybe nathaniel kahn can make a documentary about what an insult this contest is to his dead estranged father's legacy. it can be called 'my stupid architecture sandwich contest winner even though my dad hated melons and dumb people'.
louis kahnteloupe winning this thign is like a knock knock joke winning a comedy contest. its just banal, uninteresting and obvious. now, mochi safdie... thats a winner! im going to jump off a cliff at the salk institute now.
how do we know louis kahn even liked ginger cookies? i heard he hated them passionately. i want to see some citations!
Agreed with the above. Not only is it an insult to the many inspired short-listers that knock-knock joke quality and completely lame Louis Kahneloupe won, it's also an insult to the memory of Louis Kahn. What a travesty.

Louis Kahnteloupe over Eamesicle, Mochi Safdie, S'Morphosis, Oreo Saarinen, Maya Linzer Tart? What a disaster. It's not the equivalent of a knock-knock joke. It's the equivalent of a Gallagher joke. Or is it Jeff Foxworthy? Come on Dwell, you're better than that.
just because youre shooting for economies of scale off of richard meyer lemon ginger doesnt mean you have to demean louis kahn with a dimwitted pun and mix canteloupe with ginger. not with ten great ideas sitting there on your short list, you don't. shame on you, dwell.
They're pretty much all better than Frank Behry, an actual Coolhaus flavor.
Louis Kahnteloupe winning ... pathetic. Completely pathetic. The direct comparisons Louis Kahnnoli and Louis Pe-Kahn are both wittier, the rest of the shortlist includes a bunch of more clever and funnier entries, and the mix of ginger and canteloupe does, well, nothing for anyone. Good job, Dwell. A Bush administration-quality job.
Wayne Knight would have picked Rem Raisin as the winner. Too bad Newman wasn't the judge.
