The residence, which sits about 1,100 feet above sea level, was originally known as the "View-Master House," after the slide-reel toy that cycles through images of landmarks and postcard-like vistas. To maximize the view, the ground floor’s ceiling was raised, new windows were introduced, and existing windows were enlarged. A pivot-hung door leads into the house.
