36-38 Colonial Avenue by Scott Payette Architects

Urban living gets a splash of color in this new net-zero multifamily building.

This urban infill development respects the scale and massing of its historic Codman Square neighborhood while meeting LEED Platinum standards for sustainability. Making creative use of molded fiberglass grating, a colored resin was incorporated to bring bright hues to each unit's private balcony. "The sunlight coming into the units is tinted the shade of the balcony railings, pulling the bright colors into the living spaces," says Payette.
